Stay Safe and Drive Sober this St. Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday widely known for its lively green décor, elaborate leprechaun hoaxes, four-leafed-clover hunts, and, of course, copious amounts of drinking. Legions of St. Patrick’s Day enthusiasts hit the bars each year to honor the death of the namesake patron saint of Ireland. While bar-hopping and drinking green beer can be fun for anyone of age, be they Irish or not, the night will eventually come to a close and we want to be sure you get home safely.

There are a variety of ways to avoid drinking and driving nowadays, such as selecting a designated sober driver, calling a taxi, or using a drive service app to drive you safely home. Many bars even provide free non-alcoholic drinks to designated drivers, if you ask. Car services are often much more affordable than taxis and far easier to find in smaller towns and cities if you’re looking to keep the cost low. And, remember, friends don’t let friends drive drunk. Encourage friends and family who plan on drinking to plan ahead for a ride home as well, or do not let them get behind the wheel while intoxicated. We also encourage anyone who sees a drunk driver to report it to local authorities immediately. At Lawton Law Firm, we want to be sure you do everything you can to stay safe on the road this St. Patrick’s Day, but if the worst should happen, we encourage you to call us.
