Gardner v. Morgan Drive Away, Cardinal Transport, Pacific Motor Transport, South Carolina State Ports Authority, et. al.
This case involved a client who sustained a brain injury when a piece of angle iron steel came off of overloaded tractor trailer. During the course of the litigation, ten (10) different law firms represented the various defendants in the case. Numerous motions and hearings took place, and over thirty depositions were taken in eleven states. Five experts were used in prosecuting plaintiff’s case, and bankruptcies were declared by three different defendants in three different states. The case was mediated twice and resolved before trial for $4,400,000.00.
McCreary v. Beaudon, Knapp, Hudd Distribution Services, and Maersk
This case involved a trucking accident on Highway 526 in Charleston. Mr. McCreary was driving a work truck when he was hit in the rear by a semi. Due to the accident, Mr. McCreary had extensive medical treatment, and ultimately he had spinal fusion surgery.
Suit was filed in the case against the driver of the semi and his employers. After numerous depositions were taken, the case was resolved on confidential terms.
